The purpose of EscapeAllTheseThings.com is to try to separate fact from fiction, truth from error, and to assist those searching after truth in finding purpose and meaning in their lives.

Religions give you lots of instruction on what to believe. They have their creeds, doctrinal statements and theologies. But have you ever been left wondering, "What does God want?" In other words, never mind what we we've been told to believe about God in church, what does he really want us to do—according to the Bible, not theologians?

That's the fundamental question behind all the research I do and share here at EscapeAllTheseThings.com. To do so I depart from typical allegorical or symbolic interpretations and instead uses plain-sense interpretation and reasoning to arrive at the "plainterpretation" as I dub it.

Thus, this site is not only a Bible prophecy site, but an all Bible learning site. It's just that a big part of learning solid answers to this question requires first understanding the whole Bible, including that part we all necessarily must put off till last, the difficult writings of the prophets. But they must not be put off forever. For example, for those of us living in the End Times, we have specific instructions from Jesus in his Olivet Discourse on one of the things that we should be doing now:

Luke 21:36 — Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

If we are to watch and pray for what Jesus prophesied would happen, we must first understand what he described. This requires study into Bible prophecy, especially the books of Daniel and Revelation in conjunction with the Olivet Discourse. And after we study these things and understand them properly they should help us to improve our walk with our God, as Peter said:

2 Peter 3:11 (NIV) — Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives

This ideally is our true aim in studying the Bible and the yardstick by which to measure how well we are doing it.

• I believe the Bible in its original manuscripts is the inspired and inerrant Word of God (2Ti 3:15-16).
• I believe that God the Creator is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him (Heb 11:6) and faith in his Word counts us as righteous (Gen 15:6)
• I believe Jesus is the promised Messiah who died as the Lamb of God, rose from the dead, and whose blood alone covers our sins, saves us (Rom 5:9), and enables us to come to the Father (John 14:6).
• I not only believe the above (as do the demons and tremble) but insist that my actions and integrity reflect it or render the above professions as worthless (James 2:16-26)
